Studio IDC - The Cliff at Cap - Restaurant - Hero

The Cliff at Cap, St. Lucia

The Cliff at Cap is known as the most romantic restaurant on the island, with upscale Caribbean far and stunning views. Previously, the structure had dark wood floors and dark furniture; Studio IDC’s vision was to enhance the existing structure and take better advantage of magnificent views to create a more inviting and intimate atmosphere.

In order to open the space of the restaurant, Studio IDC painted the tongue-and-groove ceilings a light blue tone; this visually lifted the height of the dining room and accentuated the dark wood beams. The veranda was expanded with a new roof structure, and the columns were wrapped in sailor’s rope, a nod to the nautical influences of the passing sailboats. The updated railings and awnings now take full advantage of the unmatched views from every angle. The eclectic rattan seating, custom leaf sculpture canopy, and columns wrapped in natural sisal rope add to its seaside charm.

The pièce de résistance is The Cliff Bar at the center of the octagonal structure. This focal point was inspired by the trunk of a grand tree holding the restaurant atop the mountain. The bar was refinished with luminous emerald green tiles and deep green quartz countertops, while natural wood shelving with concealed LED lighting highlights the top-shelf liquors. The rest of the restaurant expands outward in layers. The bar stools are cobalt blue, while the lounge chairs are black, accented by natural leather bindings, all tying into the understated elegance.

This enchanting open-air restaurant has undergone a remarkable transformation courtesy of Studio IDC and stands as a testament to the team’s ability to turn spaces into extraordinary experiences.
