Vince Lago Mayor, Coral Gables

Vince Lago was elected Mayor of Coral Gables in April 2021 in a decisive victory. Prior to this, he served as City Commissioner for eight years, holding the post of Vice Mayor from 2019-2021. Over the years, Mayor Lago has dedicated his time to South Florida civic and philanthropic causes. A former member of the Coral Gables Planning & Zoning Board, he brings a reasonable and creative approach to land use, remaining committed to preserving Coral Gables’ unique character and history while placing the interests of residents first. He is also an executive at a renowned management and design firm focused on commercial construction projects specializing in medical and educational facilities.

Todd Tyler Chief Creative Officer, Studio IDC

Todd Tyler is an experienced interior and furniture designer with over 20 years in the industry. He is the Chief Creative Officer at Studio IDC, a Miami-based firm specializing in luxury residential and hospitality design. Todd has worked with prominent firms like Kenneth Brown Design and Jennifer Bradford Davis Interior Design, contributing to high-profile projects in NYC and Mustique. He also designed furniture for Blue Leaf Hospitality. His work, recognized for its beauty and functionality, has been featured in national publications. A former elite gymnast, Todd brings discipline and dedication to his work and is a certified member of ASID and NCIDQ.

Krista Bourque  Principal & Creative Director, Stantec

Krista Bourque is a principal at global design firm Stantec, where she leads its branding and experiential design studio. For over 20 years, Krista has been working at the intersection of brand and built space to create distinct places that people love. Krista and her team formulate brand strategies and campaigns for residential properties across the country that inform everything, from what a building is named to how its interiors are designed, what its website reveals, and, most importantly, how it feels when you first walk through its doors. The resulting properties are infused with a unique and memorable brand identity that sets them apart from competitors and drives long-term value.

Anabella Smith Partner, Director of Interior Architecture, Zyscovich

Anabella Smith, a partner of the award-winning firm Zyscovich, serves as its Director of Interior Architecture. She has overseen the design of an extensive portfolio that includes commercial, hospitality, governmental, educational, financial, mixed-use, retail, multifamily residential, entertainment, and transportation facilities throughout the U.S., Caribbean, South America, Mexico, and Europe. She has contributed to Zyscovich’s emphasis on innovation and leadership through a commitment to design that maximizes environmental performance and sustainability, and her leadership has inspired young, emerging professionals.

Paul Bishop Founder, Bishop Design

Paul Bishop is an acclaimed interior designer and founder of Bishop Design, established in 2004. Renowned for his innovative and award-winning projects, he has made a significant impact in the design industry with notable works like Torno Subito and Wavehouse. Under his leadership, the firm has expanded internationally, including a new presence in Miami, while continuing to create exceptional consumer experiences globally.

Moderator - Sabina Cova Co-Founder, Sabina Covo Communications

As the Co-Founder and Director of SCC, alongside her partner Hilda Juan, Sabina brings a wealth of experience to her role. With a background that includes serving as a Miami Commissioner, a broadcast journalist, and hosting political TV and radio news programs, she has made significant contributions to the media landscape. Sabina has worked with prominent media outlets such as Mega TV, America TV, Univision, and NBC/Telemundo in Miami, Florida, as well as various radio networks.

T.J. Sabo Chief Creative Officer, Royal Palm Companies

T.J. Sabo has been a pioneer in real estate and hotel advertising, brand management, and strategic relationships that consistently add value to hospitality and residential projects. With degrees in finance and law, he brings a unique perspective to the industry and is considered an expert in real estate development and an imagineer in the hotel space. Successfully participating in over 53 projects in over six countries, he and his team have delivered more than $8 billion in assets since 2002, with clients like Related Group, Rilea, RPC, Euro-American Group, and others.

Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos Co-Founder, President & COO, Flag Luxury Group

An industry leader with over 35 years of experience, Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos is the co-founder, president, and COO of Flag Luxury Group, a real estate development company focused on luxury and lifestyle hotels and retail entertainment. As president, she oversees all aspects of Flag Luxury’s real estate initiatives, including site sourcing, finance, branding, architectural and interior design, hotel programming, zoning, and construction and asset management. .

Norman Xu Director, Design, Swire Properties US

Norman Xu is an experienced architect with a demonstrated track record of working in the real estate industry. He has strong project management skills across the full cycle of development process, encompassing pre-development planning through concept design and project implementation. Particular interests include mixed-use development, architecture+interior design, space planning, real estate economics, comprehensive masterplanning, and urban design.

Harvey Hernandez CEO & President, Newgard Development Group

Harvey Hernandez entered real estate following a successful foray scaling a tech startup, the sale of which provided the initial capital for the multifamily development firm H&H Development Company. This paved the way for him to launch Newgard Development Group and NGD Homesharing. In 2017, Harvey partnered with Airbnb to create Niido, the first residential brand designed to encourage and facilitate home sharing. His latest brand, LOFTY, debuted in Brickell. His other projects include Gale Boutique Hotel & Residences in Fort Lauderdale, One Flagler in West Palm, and Brickell House in Miami. He continues to revitalize the high-end residential market by developing projects that deliver the best in location, amenities, and design.

Kobi Karp President, Kobi Karp Architecture & Interior Design

Kobi Karp is the principal of Kobi Karp Architecture & Interior Design (KKAID), a full-service architectural and interior design firm that he founded in 1996. His restoration design techniques have contributed to a renaissance in Miami Beach’s Art Deco District, which is recognized around the world. Kobi is a member of the American Institute of Architects. He is a licensed Professional Architect in nine states and Abu Dhabi. His firm has been featured in renowned publications based on its contributions to the preservation of historical areas.

Erick Valle is President of Valle Valle & Partners, an award-winning town-planning and architectural design firm that has been responsible for over 100 urban planning projects throughout the Americas, the Caribbean, and China. The breadth of his firm’s work has been recipient of the highest professional honors. As one of the original founders of “The New Urbanism” movement, his firm’s projects and resulting body of work has created a brand name and a vision shared by both his public and private clients.

Simi Burg Associate Principal, HLB Lighting Design

Simi Burg is an Associate Principal managing HLB's Miami studio. With over a decade of design leadership, she brings a combination of refined artistry and sophisticated technical skills to the built environment. Simi is actively engaged in Florida’s design community as a member of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD), CREW Miami, and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) South Florida Chapter. She is also secretary of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and has earned the designation of Certified Lighting Designer (CLD) from the IALD.
